The Arquivo Contemporâneo store participates in the 2014 Rio Design Week – from November 5 to 8 – with a great tribute to Sergio Rodrigues (1927-2014) in Ipanema.
Created by Fernando Mendes, the new display window reproduces the famous studio of Petrópolis where the master worked for ten years. Highlights are his first and latest creations: The “Mocho” stool (1954) and the Benjamin armchair (2014).
On the ground floor there is an exhibition of Sergio’s iconic sketches, illustrations and furniture. A careful project made at four hands by Fernando Mendes and photographer Eduardo Camara, from the LT.9 studio.
Among other treasures of the master, there are the Killin (1973) and Tetê (1996) armchairs, in addition to the Adolpho armchair and table, which he created in 1991 and were reissued this year in the Etel Collection.
The store also features a special display window with the “Mocho” pendant, designed by the jeweler Antonio Bernardo in partnership with the Instituto Sergio Rodrigues: A piece of jewelry offered in the gold and silver versions that reproduces Sergio Rodrigues’ “Mocho” stool.
